Math round 2

Things start getting harder harder. Before, I think math is one of the easiest subjects to learn. But since our fourth-year start, everything has changed and now I will say that math is not easy like before. But this is my second round of the year. Things started to get better. I have learned a lot about algebra. Since our second round started in October, I have learned a lot of new things about algebra. We have started to learn about System of Equations, Inequality (Systems & Graphs) and a little bit of Functions. I think System of Equations is really hard to learn and understand but after I have learned and know the structure of it, it seems easy. Inequality (Systems & Graphs) was one of the lessons that I have proven a lot about it too. But for the last lesson which is Functions, I start to get really stressed with it. When I first learn the intro of Functions, I think that Functions are so easy. But when I learned deeper and deeper, this started to change. For me, Functions is one of the lessons that hard to learn too. I’m one of the people that not usually talk in a whole class, so this might be the thing that I want to improve on. But if we talk about some positive study about me, whenever I don’t understand something, I always ask someone to help me like a teacher or my friends. And also, I’m one of the person that always want to finished Khan assignment before the weekend or never do Khan assignment on Friday night because my teacher told me not to do it and also I really think that it’s a good idea too because we don’t really get stressed about it too much just relax. My third round had started and their a few goals that I want to learn and improve for this third round. I want to improve myself to be an active person in the class and also try my best to do it before asking someone for help. Talking about math, I also want to learn more about algebra in the next lessons.

Speed

This is the last round of this year at Liger Leadership Academy. For this round, In Math class,  we Learn about speed. What is speed? Speed is how fast something move. And how to find speed? To find speed is that you need to take Distance/Time. For example, find the speed of the car that travels 320 km per 5 hours. 320/5 = 64km. So which mean that the speed is about 64km/h. Below, here some of the structure that shows how to find speed, Distance and Time.

Angles

Nowadays in Math class, we learn about Angles and Triangle.  We have three rules about it.

  1. “In a triangle, the 3 angles always add up to 180°”
  2. “In a quadrilateral, the 4 angles add up to 360°”
  3. “Exterior angle equals the two interior opposite angles added together”

After that, we learn about how to find some angle by using those rules. for example:

In this triangle, it has 3 angles and they only tell us only 2 of them. How can we find another one? So we gonna use the first rule to do this.  The 3 angles always add up to 180°. So we need to take 180° – (70° + 50°) = 60°

Percent (%)

Some people said leaning percent is easy, but some people said that learning percent is not easy it’s hard for them. Hi there reader, So now a day in math class, we learn about Percentage. So first we need to know what is percent mean. And we find out that percent means Per-Cent which mean per 100. We have done many activities about percent such as finding the percentage of something like that and also we do some word problem too.

Decimal

What is decimal? Decimals are the number that has the point for example 16.44. For the places of decimal 16.44:

1 is in the tens place

6 is in the ones place

. is the point

4 is in the tenth place

4 is in the hundredths place

After we learn that, we going next level to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Adding decimal with decimal example:

12.04 + 8.6 = 20.64

Subtract decimal with decimal example:

12.04 – 8.02 = 4.02

Multiply decimal with decimal example:

4.2 x 3 = 12.6

Divid decimal with decimal example:

0.6 / 0.2 = 3

Composite Shapes

Now in math class, we have learned about a new thing which is learning how to find an area of the composite shape like in this picture below. The easiest way to do it, you just divide that picture into a real picture like a square or triangle or circle. Then you just find the area of that square or triangle or circle and plus it together.

Mathematics

Math is my favorite class. In our school, We have 4 hours for each student to learn math every week. Basically math class we learn from the book call PRIMARY MATHEMATICS. And now we are on 5A. So 5A book focuses on Fraction, Ratio and Area. Now we no the Fraction lesson. In this fraction lesson, we learn how to add, subtract, multiply and Divide the fraction. But before we learn how to do that first we need to know a bit more about fraction. For example, ½ is the fraction. So 1 is the numerator and 2 is the denominator.
